Mojo Monday #123 and Amore

Here is my version of the Mojo monday sketch.  I have been wanting to try a round card for awhile now.  I have done some small tags in the round, but not a full sized card.  This card is 41/2" round. Colors are blush, chocolate, cocoa and tulip.  I used the Martha  punchs for the cupcake (it came with the acrylic stamps to do the two part cupcake awsome huh?) and the hearts boarder punch doubled for the boarder under the ribbon.  Papers and tag are CTMH paper from Amore pack.  I think I will be trying some more in the round cards soon, very fun!

Mojo monday #122 sketch for Ovarian CA awareness cards

I had time again to make cards so I checked out the Mojo Monday sketch and loved the layout.  I combined it with the CTMH stamp set "find the Cure" and ocean ink and papers that match the teal color to represent ovarian cancer.  I will be sending this and the following cards to Shelly to use as thank yous for her recent benifit.  See post below for details nd pictures from the benifit.  I've attached some more cards for you to enjoy as well.

A cancer benifit for my favorite Sister!

Ok, so I only have one sister, which doesn't take away from the fact that I love her to pieces and she truly deserves the title of "my favorite sister". The picture above is Shelly and I at her benifit and auction last weekend in Lincoln Ne.

I have a truly wonderful family and it was great to get together with my sister, Shelly and all her friends to raise some money for her to cover expenses from her treatment for ovarian cancer. The best part was celebrating the fact that she is done with her chemo and her beautiful hair is starting to grow back. The picture above is Shelly with two of my Brothers, Kevin on the right and Bruce on the left sporting their 'flat tops'. Makes them look even more like they are related huh?

I made a quilt for the auction that was sold in the silent auction.  I love this pattern and resisted the urge to buy it back for myself.  I always have good intentions of making a quilt for myself, but never seem to get it done, but this would be one pattern I would love.

Here is a picture of my siblings and I at the benifit.  The next pictures are some of my extended family.  Mom and Dad were wintering in AZ so they were unable to attend {Hi Mom and Dad, hope you enjoy the pics, we miss you, sure it is warmer there than the -17degrees it was in Lincoln for the benifit!}

This last picture is Jack, Shelly's wounder and supprotive husband with his oldest daughter, Kelsey.  And last I want to include two more pictures, one of some of the many auction items and last, but not least, a picture of Shelly with the wonderful ladies who have supported her through her treatments and held this benifit for her.  What great ladies, it is a testiment tow what a great person and friend my sister is too.

 Thanks for following my blog and please remeber to be good to yourself.  We women tend to care for everyone else and not ourselves.  You all are important to others and to this world so listen to your bodies, get your check ups and celebrate the uniqueness and awsomeness of YOU.  Happy 2010 and may it be the best year yet.
